Probasco Fountain Restoration & Relocation Photo Album

We will be putting various photos of the progress of the Probasco Fountain Restoration & Relocation project into this news posting.  They will also appear on our Facebook page.

Update on construction from early October:
The granite has been cleaned. The bronze has been cleaned and is ready for patination during October. The bell jet nozzle has been delivered. The granite cobbles and slabs have been pulled from the salvage yard to be cleaned and prepped for installation. Fences, benches and lighting are being fabricated.

The construction schedule was delayed due to the need to repair a sewer connection that was in this area. Currently, the project is scheduled to be completed before the end of November.

Update on Oct 22:
The restored fountain has been placed in its new position. Next steps are installing all the surrounding stone, lighting, new sidewalk, fencing, and benches. The fountain will be much more visible now as you can see from the single picture below.

American Salute at Burnet Woods – July 3rd

This past July 3rd, the Cincinnati Parks Department organized an American Salute event at our very own Burnet Woods. The event consisted of an evening of music presented by the CCM Preparatory Department, the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, and finally, The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra brass quintet. Following the wonderful music, there was a fireworks show over the lake. Based on our limited research in speaking with a long time resident of Clifton, this was the first fireworks display at Burnet Woods. We’ve included some pictures in case you missed this event.

Lots of people attended, some with picnic dinners while others enjoyed offerings from food trucks at the event.

Spring 2014 Membership Drive

Clifton Town Meeting is your local community council. CTM sponsors many activities and festivals throughout the year for our community including: Memorial Day Parade & Cookout, Lantern Walk, CliftonFest, the House Tour, Holidays on Ludlow and more. We provide funding for beautification projects such as the new flower pots on Ludlow Avenue. We provide communications including the community email listserv, website and the Clifton Chronicle. We partner with the Clifton Business and Professional Association (CBPA) to keep the Clifton Plaza operating.

In addition to these great things, we also advocate on behalf of the Clifton community. Issues we have promoted in the past year include the return of a local grocery store, renovation of the Probasco Fountain, redesign of Woolper Avenue, an improvement study for the Ludlow Avenue Business District, Central Parkway bike path, and launch of a revamped version of the CTM website and a Facebook page.

To support this important community work, we need your generous support. Membership dues are tax deductible and make up the second largest source of income for CTM. The house tour is our major fundraiser. Starting or renewing your membership will help us keep Clifton a vibrant, desirable, and fun place to live, work, and play. You can process memberships online at our website.

If you wish, you can also use this Membership Form to do a mail in membership renewal.

Thank you for your support.
